A smart classroom or e-classroom is a Digital learning environment, it helps to provide modern education to Student/ learner, making education easier than older methods.

Besides improving students creativity, analytical ability and problem-solving ability. National Council of Educational Research and Training studies have also shown a significant improvement in retention level among students compared to traditional teaching methods[1]


Projector, Interactive whiteboard, Digital Podium and other multimedia devices along with digital educational content are the main parts of smart classrooms.

Collaborative learning Learning through collaboration is one of the most effective forms of learning. Learning in groups enhances the scope of learning and develops critical thinking.[2]

  • Gradually, all Classroom are transforming into Smart classes. Recently education department has setup smart classrooms in 55 shortlisted government primary schools in meerut, India.[4]
  • Punjab has decided to turn 2,800 government-run primary and secondary schools in the state into smart schools in 2018-19 to make the teaching-learning process easy and more effective.[1]
