Smash Fashion is an American glam rock and power pop band.[1][2] The band was formed in 2003 in Los Angeles, California, by Roger Deering and Jamie Patrick. Throughout most of its career, Smash Fashion has been mostly based in Los Angeles.[3][4]

History

In 2003, Smash Fashion was formed in Los Angeles, California by Roger Deering and Jamie Patrick.[5][6] Initially, the band started out with the name The Flair, but it was hit with a cease-and-desist letter from another Canadian-based band right before the release of their first album, A Gentleman's Guide to Sophisticated Savagery. The name Smash Fashion was then chosen from an earlier composition by a band called The Drills.

Style and lyrical themes

The band's style and lyrical themes are inspired by bands like David Bowie, Queen, T-Rex, Alice Cooper, Thin Lizzy, UFO, and The Sweet. Smash Fashion's style is inspired by the punk rock genre and similar to Mott and the New York Dolls.[7]
