Omokhape Samuel Darlington is professionally known as Smile Baba. He is a Nigerian television and radio host, entrepreneur and founder of smile time entertainment and also the founder of Smilebaba Foundation.[1][2]
Life and career[edit]
Omokhape Samuel Darlington (Smile Baba) attended Lagos State University where he studied English language and graduated with a bachelor’s degree. He moved to Ghana where he had the opportunity to work with some media houses which includes Pluzz FM, Pravda radio, Vibes FM and currently with Class FM. He is the host of Smile Time Africa, a television show which airs on various satellite television channels across Africa. He is the founder and owner of Smile Entertainment Limited.
Smile Time Africa[edit]
Smile Time Africa is a television program hosted by Smile Baba, CEO of Smile Entertainment Limited. The show airs on various television stations across Africa. It airs on GhOne television[3] and TV7 in Ghana, Kennis Music Channel, MiTV, and AIT in Nigeria, SLBC in Freetown and KiTv in Dallas Texas.[4] The entertainment show won its first award in 2015 as Ghana’s outstanding Television show of the year in the Pan African Award of Excellence.[5]
In 2017 Smile Entertainment Limited signed a promotion deal with an United State based company, Semaj Jay Production and Co.[6] In 2018, Smile Entertainment limited collaborated with producers of Bigoo and Twellieum to organize a talent hunt reality show dubbed Street President. The maiden edition of the event was a success.[7][7] In 2014, Smile Baba Africa’s carnival integrated with the Ghana Naija Carnival which is aimed at uniting the two countries.[8]
S24 Studios[edit]
The S24 Studios is a 3D studio founded by Smile Baba. The studio has multi-purpose equipment for live event broadcast and segments for television and radio production. Smile Entertainment Limited launched its website in the year 2016. The creation of the website was to serve the increased demand for entertainment content from the company. The website serves celebrity news, sports and general entertainment blogging.[9]
