History[edit]
Smile Radio was launched on December 18, 2019, as an online radio. In February 2020, the station started operations on the FM band, initially at 98.2 MHz (later transferred to 96.9 MHz); a month before the lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic. It was managed by Bonie Yamid, a Broadcast Journalist and Barangay Councilor. In 2021, Smile Radio began its broadcast on 95.9 MHz as its frequency was approved by the National Telecommunications Commission and was later granted a provisional authority to operate, with the station is currently under processed by Kaissar Broadcasting Network. As of now, it currently operates on a low powered signal.
Smile Radio went off the air at the evening of December 16, 2021, when its transmitter was destroyed by Typhoon Rai (Odette).
