The Social Labour Party (Wazef) (Arabic: حزب العمل الاجتماعي الوزف‎, Ḥizb al-'Amal al-Ijtimā'ī al-Wazif) is a political party in Yemen. It started in late 2017 as a satirical Facebook-page by the young writer and poet Ammar az-Zurayqi, where he commented on political events. This joke was met with public interest, which subsequently resulted in the foundation of a party. As of March 2018, the party was not yet officially registered.

Wazef is the name of a little fish that is widely caught and eaten by Yemenis. The party's motto is "for a homeland without whales", as these little fishes are often being eaten by whales. Az-Zurayqi explained in an interview, that the fish is a symbol for the repressed and exploited people, whereas the whales represent the traditional tribal, military and religious forces that led the country into a state of chaos and destruction..[1] Dr. Qa'id Ghaylan, a member of the party, stated that the idea of the party connects seriousness and sarcasm with philosophical depth and humor, but is no temporary joke [2]. The website Aden Gad reported in 2018, that members of other parties had joined the newly founded party [3]
