SoftSwiss

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

SoftSwiss is a software development company that provides gaming software and payment processing solutions for online gambling operators. It also provides gaming operation services and licensing infrastructure. It maintains hundreds of online casinos, mostly through white label partners.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

The company was initially launched in 2008 to develop online auction software, but officially founded only in 2012.[7][8]

In the early 2010s, SoftSwiss has come under fire due to allegations of plagiarism by the Belarusian gambling company, VIADEN.[4]

Company Operations[edit]

As of January 2021, SoftSwiss consists of approximately 500 employees.[9]

The company was founded by Ivan Montik (current CEO) and Dmitry Yaikau in 2008, who are both from Belarus,[10] where SoftSwiss’ software is developed.[1][11] It is a registered brand and trademark of the SoftSwiss Group, which comprises multiple companies and brands operating in various locations.[12][13]

SoftSwiss transported over 100 employees from Belarus to the Ukraine in August 2020, following difficulties the company faced in light of the local political situation in Belarus.[14][1]

The trading company for SoftSwiss is the Cypriot company Direx Limited. The Curaçao-based company Direx N.V is the hundred percent shareholder in Direx Limited, and the most prominent entity of the SoftSwiss group.[15][16]

N1 Interactive is another trading corporation within SoftSwiss’ group of companies, through which SoftSwisss reportedly holds its Maltese gambling license.[17][18][19]

In February 2021, SoftSwiss received a licence for operating in Nigeria, focusing on sports betting.[20]

Software Features[edit]

SoftSwiss began providing cryptocurrency payment processing solutions in 2013, integrating them into SoftSwiss' and their clients’ casino websites.[4][21][22] Since then, the company has invested in cryptocurrency-based solutions, believing it will become the dominate payment method for iGaming in the next few years.[23][24][25] Currently, SoftSwiss supports payments in several coins, including bitcoin.[26][27]

In 2021, the company launched SoftSwiss Sportsbook Platform, a product that aims to combine between an online casino and a sportsbook.[28] In February 2021, Affilka, an affiliate marketing platform developed by SoftSwiss, announced the official launch of its new module designed specifically for sportsbooks.[29][30][31]

Controversies[edit]

SoftSwiss has come under fire due to allegations of plagiarism by the Belarusian gambling company, VIADEN. This was reportedly likely the result of multiple employees leaving VIADEN to join SoftSwiss in the early 2010s, including its lead designer.[4]

SoftSwiss claim to have introduced a “Provably Fair” verification feature into certain gambling games they provide.[32][33] However, there are indications that this assertion derives from certification issued by independent laboratories, iTechLabs and BMM Testlabs. SoftSwiss online casinos like Bitcoin Penguin, Bitcoincasino.us and 7bitcasino, all claim to be “Provably Fair.” These casinos only hold certifications from independent providers whose fairness is harder to verify.[34]
