Software configuration is the capability within a software application of being capable of adapting sections of the source code to different circumstances while minimizing software development cycles. This is commonly done by fetching values from external sources, like configuration files, or replacing part of the execution logic by a rules evaluation engine or an externally interpreted domain-specific language.
