History[edit]
Solitaire Grand Harvest was initially developed by the Austrian game developer Supertreat Studios in 2017, which was later acquired by Israel-based gaming company Playtika in January 2019.[3][4][5] The game has around 2 million active daily users, making it the most popular solitaire game app in the United States[6] and it was The number 1 tabletop game by player spending in the U.S between August 1, 2020, and July 31, 2021.[7]

Gameplay[edit]
Solitaire Grand Harvest is a cross between a traditional Solitaire card game and a farming simulation. Each time you start a new level, your aim will be to clear all the cards from the screen, in order to harvest crops and earn coins. The tricky part of the game is that you’ll need to select each card in numerical order, which requires planning and strategy. Solitaire Grand Harvest revolves around reinterpreted solitaire TriPeaks levels which need to be solved in order to start planting crops on the player's in-game farm and take care of the animals on the farm.[12] Solitaire Grand Harvest is a level based solitaire game where in each level you need to clear the board by removing all cards. You can turn cards from a pile on the table and on these open cards you can play cards that are one higher or lower.[13]
The game follows a freemium model where registration and basic gameplay are free. The app also offers in-game purchases to enhance gameplay, and players can pay to buy coins and additional in-game content.[14]
Main Features[edit]
- Hourly bonuses: Each hour the player can harvest his farm’s current crops and collect a bonus that he may use to play more levels.[15]
- Levels: Solitaire Grand Harvest features thousands of unique Solitaire levels where the players play through different levels of difficulty as they attempt to beat the challenge. The levels become gradually harder to beat as you progress.[16]
- Wild cards: Wild cards in Solitaire Grand Harvest are the equivalent to a Joker in traditional Solitaire, which allows you to put any card you want and helps you win the level/gain a streak.[17] Each time you flip over a new card there is a small chance that you’ll turn over a ‘wild card’. You can also choose to purchase wild cards using the coins which you earn by completing levels or by using an in-app purchase.[18]
- Power-ups: The player can earn various power-ups through playing the game, or using in-game purchases. Power-ups can be used in order to overcome levels that the player is struggling with.[19]
- Bonus wheel: it is possible to win a wide variety of prizes by spinning the bonus wheel, such as free coins, free rounds, bonus cards, extra harvests, etc.[19]
Donations[edit]
In 2021 Solitaire Grand Harvest partnered with the World Wide Fund for Nature, donating $100,000 to the fund and adding in-game events and characters dedicated to the charity.[20][21]
In 2022, Solitaire Grand Harvest partnered with Tree-Nation to launch an initiative wherein more than 36,000 will be planted in two phases via Solitaire Grand Harvest’s environmental arm, SGH Eco, in a bid to restore forests devastated by Californian wildfires.[22][23]
