Solitude is a metalcore band hailing from Värnamo, Sweden. Formed in 2006 by Dennis Warelius, William Turner and Patrik Larsson. The band has released two EPs and one full-length album, all recorded in Fredrik Nordström's Studio Fredman, produced by well-known heavy metal producer Henrik Udd. Their latest EP, A World Inside My Mind, was released in October 2013.
History
Solitude was originally formed by Dennis Warelius, William Turner and Patrik Larsson. At the start, the band had various names and it was just a couple of friends enjoying playing music together. In 2006 the name Solitude was taken and after that things got more and more serious. The songwriting had started fully and with a couple home-recorded demos, Solitude found their way of creating the music they enjoyed. In December 2007 the band entered Studio Fredman to record their first EP together with producer Henrik Udd.
After one year of playing shows across mostly the southern parts of Sweden, the new material was all set and in April 2009 Solitude entered the studio once again to record a new EP. Due to good results of the recording in 2007 with producer Henrik Udd, the band couldn't think of a better option than going back to Studio Fredman again. The self-released EP was named The Revival and released on their official Myspace on 23 April 2009.
After the recording of The Revival Solitude went out on a Swedish mini-tour called Breakdown Tour 09 together with a Swedish band called Twelvestep from Halmstad, Sweden in April 2009. Twelvestep played as the opening act for the U.K. based Bullet for My Valentine on all of their Scandinavian gigs in December 2006.
On 21 March 2012 Solitude released their first full-length album called Tied to the Anchor, which went on to be a huge success for the band, and they became more well known. On 21 October 2013 they released their second EP called A World Inside My Mind, and they put all the songs up on their YouTube account, called SolitudeSwe. During this time they also produced their own beer, an American Pale Ale with an alcohol content of 6% named after the EP.
