Solo Riq is an American rapper from Los Angeles, California.

In September 2018, after releasing his songs "Green" and "Put it Down", Solo Riq became a viral soundcloud rapper due to his versatile rap style, streaming over a million streams and being compared to rapper Drake (musician). In September 2018, he signed to Solo Riq Music under DistroKid distribution.

Early life[edit]

Solo Riq grew up in Los Angeles, California in West Los Angeles, and attended multiple schools before moving with his mother to the San Fernando Valley, but later settled in Northridge After settling down in San Fernando Valley, Solo Riq attended Granada Hills Charter High School Solo Riq began to take an interest in rap music at a young age, and mainly listened to Eminem, 50 Cent, The Game and Snoop Dogg.

2010–present: Career beginnings and viral success[edit]

He began rapping in January 2010 under the name Solo Riq, a reference to working solo. After being invited to Atlanta to Jay Anthony Beatz studio he met through Facebook, Solo Riq began to work and collaborate with Jay Anthony to release his first song, "Green" to Soundcloud which hit over a million streams its first three weeks. In May 2019, he released his first EP, To The Top. The EP helped him build a local following in California. He released his single titled "Green" in September of 2018 on SoundCloud giving him national recognition as an Independent Rap Artist.
