Somewhere Stranger (Musical Trilogy, Soundtrack)[edit]

In 2021 Somewhere Stranger released a three-volume musical trilogy of the same name. This self-titled musical collection is a theatrical rock-opera/soundtrack comprised of 34 songs written and produced by Andrew Paul Coleman at his Oregon recording studio Another Wonder. It has a total playing time of 2 hours and 34 minutes.

Somewhere Stranger, Volume 1 begins the story in a mysterious carnival setting powered by riff-heavy guitar leads. This volume's carnival theme is directly inspired by The Beatles song Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!, and develops that concept further with the theme-advancing followup track ""Wing Walking Sky Writers"". These two tracks create the setting for the remainder of the album. The volume is comprised mostly of carnival/circus related songs, and introduces an underlying love-story that continues in volumes 2 & 3.

Somewhere Stranger, Volume 2 explores the realms of good versus evil, war and peace, and the forces that drive them. Moving away from the carnival theme of the first volume, Volume 2 deals with political, governmental, and societal forces that surround the main characters, their lives, their relationship, and their search for peace in the fictional setting of Porcelain City.

Somewhere Stranger, Volume 3 is an existential journey through inner-struggle, redemption and metamorphosis with a touch of the supernatural. This volume explores the self-discoveries of the story's main characters, their past battles, spirituality, and their travel through life and beyond. This volume follows the rock-opera's story to its natural conclusion and ends the tale with the song Music Box, a musical epilogue bringing closure to Somewhere Stranger.
