Sonia Nwankwo, also known as Sonifoxy (born 19 July 1991), is a Nigerian actress from Njijkoka, Anambra State.
Early life[edit]
Sonia was born in Niger State, the youngest of three children. After completing her primary and secondary school in Minna and Onitsha, she went further to obtain a B.Sc in Sociology in 2014 from the University of Abuja.
Career[edit]
In 2011 She became a member of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN)[1] while she was preparing Herself for the Nollywood film industry.
Sonifoxy interest in music and art started at a young age. She made her Nollywood film debut in 2013 in the movie titled The Prince and the Slave where she played the role of Akueze. Sonia has starred in over 20 Nollywood movies.
In May 2018, she released her first musical single "Suspender". She released "Obimo" in November 2018.
Controversy[edit]
Sonifoxy said in her recent interview with The Daily Times Newspaper and The Sun Newspaper said she lost many movie roles in Nollywood because she didn't give into sexual advances.[2][3] Sonifoxy also stated that her celebrity crush is Davido in her interview with Vanguard.[4] in another interview with Tribune She also said there are certain conditions that would bring out the romantic part of her, which is only when her lover is ready to reciprocate the feeling. [5]
