The Sonic Soak is a portable washing machine, an ultrasonic cleaning device that saves time, water, and energy using ultrasound waves to clean items.[1][2][3][4]
History[edit]
It was initially funded through the crowdfunding website Indiegogo in 2017.[5][6] As of July 2018, Sonic Soak is the 3rd most funded crowdfunding campaign in Indiegogo's "Home" category with more than $2M pre-orders.[7][8] In 2018, Sonic Soak also ran on Japanese crowdfunding website Makuake, raising ¥117M (~$1M), making it the most funded Japanese crowdfunding campaign in 2018 and 2nd of all time.[9][10]
Technology[edit]
The tiny Sonic Soak is using ultrasound technology to generate microscopic and high-pressure bubbles to wash away things at the microscopic level.[11][12][13] It weight just 113 grams which means it can be carried easily.[14][15] In a second, it creates 50,000 ultrasonic vibrations [16][17][18] which can cleans clothes, dishes, instruments and foods[19] for dirt and bacteria at the microscopic level.[20][21][22] It designed with medical grade stainless steel and works on any standard electrical outlet.[23][24]
