Sonu (cinematographer)
Sonu also known as (Kumar Avyaya) (born in Siwan, district of Bihar, on 10 December 1985 ) is an Indian-born cinematographer.
Early life and education[edit]
Sonu grew up in a village of Siwan district in Bihar. He graduated in mass media and creative writing from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. He did his post graduate diploma in film cinematography from the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India, Pune in 2014.[citation needed]
Career[edit]
After receiving his diploma in three year film cinematography from FTII, Sonu went to Mumbai and started working independently. He shot his first full-length feature Mor Mann Ke Bharam[1] a Chhattisgarhi film, directed by Karma Takapa, Heer Ganjwala & Abhishek Varma. This feature was selected for competition in the India Gold section of the 17th edition of the prestigious Mumbai Academy of the Moving Image, MAMI film festival, Mumbai.[2]
He assisted Attar Singh Saini also in his feature film Days of Tafree, in 2016 which is produced by the leading television and film producer Rashmi Sharma.[citation needed]
In 2017, he shot two entirely different genres with two different directors. He worked with two times national award-winning director Kamal Swaroop on his unique documentary film Pushkar Puran in which he shot exotic city of Pushkar[3] and then he created totally different images in Internationally acclaimed Ralang Road.[4]
He also worked for television projects like Bade Achhe Lagte Hain for Sony Entertainment Television as 2nd camera operator and Zee Café's talk show Look, who is talking.[5]

Upcoming projects[edit]
A recent feature film Sonu shot on the extreme height and deadly weather in Himalaya mountains, directed by the same Sikkimese director Karma Takapa.[6] Another film Mishing (Arunachali) in this year 2018 he shot for the internationally acclaimed Assamese director Bobby Sarma Baruah.
