The Source Catalogs were a series of resource guides published in the 1970s for progressive community organizations, collectives, librarians, and other audiences. The content was based on interviews with hundreds of community groups throughout the country. Each catalog documented the broad array of ways that grassroots organizations were working to improved their communities. The books provided contact information to encourage the sharing of experiences and ideas.

Source Collective Production Team[edit]

The staff of the Source Collective would sometimes typeset and prepare for publication booklets and other print materials for other organizations, especially those that were also housed in the townhouse building owned by the US National Student Association. The Source Collective occupied the top floor attic of the USNSA building. At the time the granite and brick townhouse building was located on S Street Northwest in Washington, DC.
