Sourendranath Dey was born in 1944 in the Kalitala area of Srirampur. Sourendranath Dey could solve complex problems orally without any notebook or pen. He is one of the most popular authors of a best-selling book on mathematics.
Early career
Sourendranath Dey was born in Srirampur, West Bengal, India. He completed his primary education at Srirampur Union School and then pre-university level studies from Srirampur College, after which he was admitted to Vidyasagar College. He graduated from there and later obtained a master's degree in applied mathematics from Calcutta University. Then he joined teaching after getting his PhD. He was a professor of mathematics and statistics at Herambachandra College (City College) in South Calcutta. Besides, Sourendranath Dey has taught part-time at Shivnath Shastri College and Mahadevananda College in Barrackpore.
