Sourendranath Dey was born in 1944 in the Kalitala area of Srirampur. Saurendranath Dey could have solved complex problems orally without any notebook-pen. He is one of the most popular authors of the best-selling book on mathematics.
Early career[edit]
Sourendranath Dey was born in Srirampur, West Bengal, India. He completed his primary education at Srirampur Union School and then pre-university level studies from Srirampur College, he was admitted to Vidyasagar College. He graduated from there and later obtained a master's degree in applied mathematics from Calcutta University. Then he joined teaching after getting PhD. He was a professor of mathematics and statistics at Herambachandra College (City College) in South Calcutta. Besides, Saurendranath Dey has taught part-time at Shivnath Shastri College and Mahadevananda College in Barrackpore.
