Splash Channel

Splash Channel was an Indian television channel catering children and teenagers. The channel broadcast from Chennai and was owned by Pentamedia Graphics subsidiary Intelivision. It was plagued by limited carriage throughout its run. It is unknown when did the channel stop broadcasting.

History[edit]

The channel was announced in July 2001, with an initial launch date set for August 15. The channel had invested Rs 60 crores for the next three years and 15 crores in the first year alone. There were talks with the Sun Network and Sony Entertainment Television India regarding wider carriage.[1]

Experimental broadcasts started on August 17, 2001.
