Sree Vidyanikethan International School is a coeducational school located near Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. Sree Vidyanikethan International School was set up in 1993 in Sree Sainath(rangampete), Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh and in Hyderabad, Telangana in 2006. It is part of the Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Trust (SVET) which was established in 1992 by Dr. M. Mohan Babu,^[1] who has been an actor, film producer, recipient of Padma Shri Award and former member of Rajya Sabha. The campus of the school is located 14 kilometre (8.69 miles) from Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, India.

Beginnings[edit]

The founder of SVET, Dr. M. Mohan Babu comes from a humble background. His interest and dedication towards academics comes from his father, Narayana Swamy Naidu,^[2] himself was a teacher and also the headmaster of school in the Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh. SVET was set up with a view to be open for everyone wishing to learn, irrespective of cast, creed of social strata. The institution started off with a size of 216 students and has grown in to have 10,000 students today. Moreover, the trust has over 350 full-time faculty members across institutions and disciplines. SVET^[3] stands as the ‘largest private institution in the Rayalaseema^[4] area functioning in association with the Governments of India and Andhra Pradesh.

The Founder[edit]

Aside from being the founder of SVET,^[5] Dr. M. Mohan Babu has been the visionary behind SVET since 1992. Beginning his career as a teacher on the Physical Education department in a school, he took to his obsession for acting, rising as one of best dialogue orator of his time, making a place for himself as a character artist in the Telugu film industry, or Tollywood.

Campus[edit]

The campus is located in Sree Sainath Nagar on a 240-acre land and follows the CBSE curriculum from NCERT, New Delhi with the options of ICSE A and AS levels as well. The campus^[8] has classes from Fourth (IV) to Class XII. The campus has both, day schooling and boarding. It has been rated among the Top 10 Best International Boarding Schools in India and also received the award for the best disciplined school in Andhra pradesh. Sports Facilities[edit]

Sree Vidyanikethan encourages every child to take up a sports^[9] activity of their choice. Indoor: Chess, Puzzles, Carom, Musical chairs. Other Activities: Calligraphy, Recitation, Elocution, Essay Writing, Extempore, Dramatics, Singing, Dancing,art.

Hostel Facility[edit]

The campus of Sree Vidyanikethan International School, Tirupati, has 6 hostel blocks,^[10] each with a residence capacity for 100 students.^[11] The units are managed by a Counselor, House Masters and housekeeping staff. The kitchen is maintained by a qualified¬ed Catering Manager, alongside a Nutritionist and Dietitian. The dormitories are fully air-conditioned, spacious, well-ventilated, clean and hygiene. Students from Grade IV and above can avail residential facility. Other facilities in the hostel:

The school offers convenient bus services to day scholars to most part of the cities. With around 35 buses, which are well maintained by the bus maintaining staff.^[12] for the campus, the school bus travels around the city picking up and dropping off students safely.

Admission^[14]^[15] at Sree Vidyanikethan is subject to the availability of seats^[16] and we admit students within the minimum permissible age limit of entry as of 30 August (in the year):

Annual Day[edit]

The Annual Day^[17] of the school is an extravagant event year and is celebrated^[18] with great pompousness. Dr. M. Mohan Babu's birthday, that is, 19 March every year marks the celebrations.
