Srishti Publishers
Srishti Publishers is an Delhi-based publication house of English-language fiction. It was founded by Jayant Kumar Bose, formerly of Rupa Publications, and is now led by Arup Bose. [1]
The company started as a publisher of translated literature. After the successful publication of Five Point Someone by Chetan Bhagat, it moved to mass-market fiction, specialising in the so-called "campus novel" subgenre of romantic comedy/chic-lit set in educational institutions.[2] This has been credited by the CEO of Hachette India as being almost entirely responsible for the boom in Indian commercial fiction from around 2006.[3] Srishti subsequently broadened its range to other genres including fantasy and mythology, crime and thrillers, and satire.[2]
