Sshakshi Chovan is an Indian actress who has acted in several Bollywood movies and in several Indian regional languages. She hails from Satara but now resides in Mumbai. Chovan has also performed in many item numbers (in Indian film, musical numbers inserted into films which may or may not be related to the plot).[1]
Education[edit]
Chovan studied at Adarsh Vidyalaya in Pune and Mumbai before graduating with a B.A. degree from University of Pune. She has also completed two professional courses in acting.
Career[edit]
Chovan started her career as a model in 2010 before moving to acting. Her aunt, also from the film industry, performed in Marathi movies and serials. Her aunt is Marathi actress Sharmila Singh. Her uncle also works in the film industry as an associate director of Prakash Jha. Her brother Shekar is assisting Mr. Raju Rueya and her younger brother Adinath is coming soon into Bollywood industry as a producer.
Chovan has also acted in television serials and short films. She has worked in films like Making of a Terrorist and Wanted in Tamil and has been featured in various social awareness campaigns.[2]
Reality shows[edit]
Sshakshi Chovan has participated in several reality shows on Indian television channels like UTV Bindaas, Mahuaa, and India Now. She has also walked the runway as a model for several Indian fashion designers.[3]
Later career[edit]
On 3 January 2014, Chovan announced that she would continue to act. She performed in a serial for Sahara One "Humari Mitti,” directed by Imbdad Hussian Nakhmi and produced by Devraj. She also performed in South Movie Sandhitadhum Sandhitadhum. Chovan has produced her own films and launched her own production house - Sshakshi Film Productions.[4]
