Starship 420
Starship 420 is an American multi-media and comic strip created by Patrick Casey Dillistone in 2009 and illustrated by Jamie Vayda. First published on January 16, 2015. Starship 420 is known for its satirical cannabis humor about a misfit alien space crew trapped in Earth's orbit who are out of food, resources and, most importantly, weed. Starship 420 video and comic appears online on sites Funny or Die, Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, live streams with actors on Twitch and in the paper publications Dime Entertainment and Head Quest national magazines as a regular feature.

The History of Starship 420
"Just after the big bang." The concept of Starship 420 emerged from short videos on YouTube in 2009 produced for media classes at the University of Southern Mississippi. The alien adventures of Captain K and his space buddy Z'binx traveling to the only known planet in the universe that can grow weed. Originally pitched as a TV series to Adult Swim with some feedback on developing an audience via the web. It wasn't until 2010 when it was pitched to David Sheffield from Saturday Night Live fame to redo the story and promote it from a broader media platform. The idea was to be open source to bring in creative writers and artists to create all forms of media based on the Starship 420 sandbox. Casey and Kristie Dillistone started weekly meetings with groups of like-minded and creative folks to establish an artist community. David Sheffield is an advisor to the group. Starship 420 started to take shape as a comic and stories across the web. Acclaimed indie artist Jamie Vayda started drawing for Starship 420 in 2015.
