Plot[edit]
Since the attack on Buenos Aires, Earth has been at war with the Arachnoids. But also internally not everything runs smoothly in the ranks of the Federation. Scattered paramilitaries try to cook their own soup. But then one of their projects goes completely off the rails. Sky Marshal Burghardt has to sort out the situation. He sends a small group of Mobile Infantry led by Commander Schröder to the scene to investigate the incident. There are still intact structures in the outskirts of Buenos Aires, on the cratered edge of the destroyed city. The Mobile Infantry group must enter a half-destroyed bunker-like building. At first, it seems to be a normal reconnaissance mission. But then one trooper after the other disappears. Commander Schröder, together with only two remaining troopers, finds a secret laboratory where the paramilitaries had tried to build a biological weapon to fight the bugs. In the process, they created the Sniperbug, but control of it has slipped away. The Sniperbug has hitherto unknown abilities, such as a protective shield, a wave-based weapon that vaporizes the victim's brain almost immediately, and the ability to manipulate its victims telepathically. Confronted with this, only one trooper survives in the end, as well as Commander Schröder, who is seriously injured.
