Steeda, with a headquarters based out of Pompano Beach, Florida, was founded in 1988 by Dario Orlando. The firm specializes as a Ford performance products retailer, both selling high-performance modified cars and also engineering and manufacturing, and selling parts. With 1979 to present Ford Mustang parts as its main focus, it makes parts for the Ford Mustang, Fusion, Focus, Fiesta, Explorer, and F-150.
History[edit]
At its inception in 1988, Steeda (formerly known as Steeda Autosports), started with the idea of creating a special line of high-performance and limited edition Ford Mustang vehicles. The original name was meant to be the "Sebring Mustang" series, but Dario Orlando was unable to secure those naming rights. Shortly thereafter, the name Steeda was born. The first Steeda Mustang was a 1988 model year Fox Body Mustang. Throughout the years, Steeda has developed and homologated various Q-Series Mustangs.[1]
In recent years, Steeda has expanded from the vehicles side of the business to sell parts both through a distribution network and, increasingly, directly to their customers. In 2008, it added a 100,000 sq. ft. manufacturing & distribution facility in Valdosta, Georgia.[2]
Racing[edit]
The company also participates in racing. Steeda has won numerous championships from piloting Fox Body Mustangs, SN95 Mustangs, S197 Mustangs and current S550 Mustangs where they test and prototype their suspension components on track.[3] Their Head of Manufacturing, Scott Boda, has piloted their naturally-aspirated "Silver Bullet" 2018 Ford Mustang GT drag car into the 9-second range down the quarter mile.[4]
