CKD Corporation (CKD株式会社, CKD Kabushiki Gaisha) is a Japanese manufacturer that offers pneumatic control systems, pneumatic cylinders and electric driven actuators, fluid control components, fine system components, and automatic machinery.[1]
History[edit]
In 1943, the company was established as “Japan Aircraft Electric Co., Ltd.” in Nagoya City. It was renamed as “Chukyo Electric Co., Ltd.” in 1945 , and began the manufacture, sales and repair of electrical machinery and equipment.[2]
In 1956, the company stablished the Component Division in addition to the Machinery Division. Started the mass-production of various types of solenoids, pneumatic cylinders, and valves.
In 1979 the company was renamed as “CKD Corporation” and listed in Tokyo Exchange Stock.
In 2017, “NIKKI DENSO CO., LTD.” became CKD’s affiliated companies to become CKD NIKKI DENSO CO., LTD.[3]
Since 1984, the company established oversea subsidiaries, such as in Malaysia, USA, Thailand, China, South Korea, the Netherland, and India. As of 2023, CKD has 58 sales offices in Japan, 56 offices in China, 41 offices in other Asian countries, and 15 offices in the rest of the world.[4]
