Stefan Mihajlov (born June 29, 2001,[1] in Pančevo[2]) is a Serbian track and field athlete who specializes in the 100 metres. He is a five-time national champion and represented his country in the third league of the 2021 European Athletics Team Championships. He made his senior national championship debut in Kraljevo at age 20 and won a bronze medal.[3]
Career[edit]
Mihajlov started his international career in 2018 and represented Serbia in the U18 European Championships in Győr.[4] In February 2020, he participated in the Balkan indoor championship held in Istanbul and finished fifth, with a time of 7.03 seconds in the final round.[5] In August 2020, he won three gold medals at the Individual Championship of Serbia for juniors under 20 years of age.[6] On the first day of the competition, he recorded the best time in the 100 meters in the qualifying round and entered the final. He convincingly triumphed in the final with a time of 10.98 seconds and won the gold medal. On the same day, in the evening hours, at the athletic stadium in Kruševac, he won another gold medal, in the 4 × 100 m relay.[4] In 2021, he finished fifth in the Serbian 4 × 100 m relay at the Balkan Championships in Smederevo. In 2018, he participated in the Junior Championship of Serbia and won the gold medal in the 100-meter race with a personal record of 11.09, qualifying for the Balkan Championships held in Istanbul, Turkey.[7]
