Stella Smyth is a singer-songwriter and music producer from the United States. Her music is mostly self-written and self-produced entirely.[1] She is mostly known for her song Bored which went viral on TikTok, receiving over five million views in four months.[2] She is also known for her collaborations with EDM artist Kaivon in 2018 and 2019.[3][4]

Career[edit]

Smyth began her career releasing self-made tracks on SoundCloud in 2016, however it wasnt until 2018 before she began to issue music onto streaming services.[5] This was when she released her debut album, Aftermath.

Throughout 2018 to early 2019, Smyth was featured in several tracks by Kaivon and Subfer, as well as featuring on NOKO's debut EP in the song Real Thing in 2019.[3]

In July 2020, Smyth released her sophemore album, Vienna.[6]

On 4 September 2020, Smyth issued Bored, the lead single of Everest.[7] Smyth announced the single on her TikTok account. The video gained a lot of attention, which brought listeners to Smyth's music.[2]

On 9 October, Everest, Smyth's third studio album was released, containing thirteen tracks, including Bored.[2]

On 25 June 2021, Smyth was one of three winners of the Today LGBTQ+ Emerging Artists Award, winning a $10,000 prize.[8]

The LGBTQ+ Emerging Artists Award was arranged by the Today show in June 2021, arranged for Pride Month, with the winners receiving a surprise $10,000 prize.
