Stephen P. Robbins (born January 31, 1943) is an American textbook author. According to informIT[1], Robbins is the world’s number-one selling textbook author in the areas of Management and Organizational Behavior[2], with sales in excess of 12 million copies [3]. [4]

He also competes in masters’ track events, having won more than a dozen individual world titles and setting age-graded world records at 100, 200, and 400 meters.[5] [6] He was elected into the USA Masters’ Track & Field Hall of Fame in 2005. [7]

Biography[edit]

Early Life and Education[edit]

Robbins was born in Los Angeles, CA and graduated from Alexander Hamilton High School (Los Angeles). He attended the University of Arizona on a track scholarship. He earned his B.S. and Ph.D. at the University of Arizona and his M.B.A. at Arizona State University.[8]

He taught at the University of Nebraska Omaha (1971-73); Concordia University in Montreal (1973-79); and is a professor emeritus of management at San Diego State University (1979-1993).[9] [10]

In 2014, Stephen P. Robbins received the University of Arizona Global Achievement Award.[11]

Stephen Robbins is married to Laura Ospanik (1997) and lives in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. He has two daughters, Dana and Jennifer, from his first marriage.[12]

Masters’ Track & Field[edit]

Beginning in 1993, at age 50, Robbins began competing in masters' sprint competitions. Focusing on 100m and 200m races, he won his first World Championship in Miyazaki, Japan. Since then he’s won world titles at championships in the U.S., Australia, Austria, France, and Brazil.
