Steven "Steve" Kynman (born 12 November 1975) is an English actor, writer and puppeteer, best known for voicing various characters (including the title character) in Fireman Sam, Bob the Builder and Thomas and Friends. He has starred in various shows for CBeebies and has worked as a puppeteer for The Jim Henson Company.

Kynman was born in Beverley, England.
Career[edit]
He is best known for his work in the children TV industry, most notably as Robert the Robot in the CBeebies show, Justin's House and the current voice of the title character in Fireman Sam.
As a puppeteer his work includes The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, Construction Site, Fimbles, The Hoobs, Yonderland, Spitting Image and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
In 2012, he joined the UK and USA voice cast of Thomas & Friends as Duck, Ryan, Dart, Paxton, Peter Sam in UK and USA and Porter and Jack in the UK and both Charlie and Butch in the USA dub taking over from Glenn Wrage (Charlie; Season 13 - 15 and Butch; Season 15 - 16) and Ben Small (Charlie; Season 16 - 18).
His other work on the CBeebies channel includes appearing in the annual Christmas productions, sometimes as variations of his character in Justin's House and sometimes as other characters. He has presented productions of Shakespeare plays that have aired on the channel, in character as a fictionalised version of William Shakespeare. He has also appeared in the CBeebies Prom as both Shakespeare and Robert the Robot, made guest appearances on other CBeebies shows ( Swashbuckle for example) as Robert and made appearances as Robert in the CBeebies House. He (as Robert) is a relief presenter on the CBeebies show, Stargazing.
In 2015, he joined Bob the Builder in the UK, he was cast as Lofty. He took over from Neil Morrissey who played the role from 1998-2012.
In 2017, Kynman took over as the host of the BBC School Radio programme "Playtime", from the CBeebies presenter Andy Day.
In 2019 he joined the cast of CBBC sketch show Class Dismissed in which he played 5 different characters.
In 2021, Kynman played The Wish Taker in CBeebies production of The Night Before Christmas, filmed at The Theatre Royal, Plymouth.[1]
