StillArt Limited (in Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.) is a arts administration firm founded in 1992 by Magnus Still, headquartered in Porvoo, Finland. The firm is working on providing consulting services to performing arts organizations, particularly in classical music, focusing on subscription models to increase audiences and revenue.[1][2][3][4][5]
History
StillArt was established in Helsinki in 1992 by cellist and conductor Magnus Still to formalize his artist management activities and to coordinate tours and concerts for performing artists. Throughout the 1990s, the company broadened its scope, overseeing the freelance ensemble Sinfonietta Odysseus and staging ten international festivals across four countries between 1991 and 2000. In 1998 and 1999, he contributed to production work at the Helsinki Festival, followed by his tenure as CEO of the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra from 2000 to 2001. In 2006, following the publication of Still’s 2006 case-study report—which laid the methodological groundwork for arts consultancy—the firm reemerged with a strategic focus on subscription-based audience development, launching its first Subscription Builder contracts that aligned consultancy fees with measurable subscription growth. The Annual Subscription Wheel, introduced in 2009 as a systematic framework for planning season-long marketing activities, became a core element of the Subscription Builder service. In 2013, the StillArt Subscription Advisory Board was formed. All consultancy operations were consolidated under StillArt Limited, a Finnish-registered company headquartered in Porvoo in 2014.[6] In 2017, the German journal Das Orchester published a sixteen-page feature on subscription models, underscoring the growing importance of subscription strategies in the performing-arts sector.[1]
Services
StillArt's primary service is the Subscription Builder, which aims to increase traditional fixed-seat, fixed-performance subscribers for performing arts organizations. The firm has helped multiple organizations sell out their entire seasons.[7][2] For clients who have achieved sold-out status, StillArt provides additional services in fundraising, sponsorship, public funding, and strategic development.
