Stine Pilgaard (born March 27, 1984, in Vejlby-Risskov near Aarhus) is a Danish author.

Life

Stine Pilgaard became a student at Risskov Gymnasium in 2003 and then she studied Danish and media studies at Aarhus University. She earned a bachelor’s degree in 2007 and was admitted to the Authors' School in Copenhagen the following year. Here she completed her education in 2010 and continued her Danish studies at the University of Copenhagen, from which she earned a Cand.mag. in 2012.

Her debut novel Min mor siger from 2012 was well received by critics and she won Bodil og Jørgen Munch-Christensens debutantpris. This novel has also been published in Norway and Iceland.

She has received the Weekendavisen Book Award 2020[1] and De Gyldne Laurbær 2020[2] (The Golden Laurels award) for her novel Meter i sekundet (The Land of Short Sentences), translated into English and several other languages.
