McKenzie reaching the quarter finalist of the 1989 World Youth Masters are beating the last 16 Germany's Dirk Hagemeister and losing to Dennis Beisser of England by 3–2 legs.
McKenzie won the 1989 Scottish Masters youth champion are beating by Englishman Nigel Arnold.
