Sulaimanitherium (meaning "beast of the Sulaiman Range") is an extinct genus of primitive whale from the Eocene (Bartonian) Drazinda Formation of Pakistan. The type species is S. dhanetri.[1]
Discovery and naming
The holotype is MSID-1 to MSID-100, a set of forty vertebrae, and it was discovered between 2000 and 2013. Sulaimanitherium dhanetri was named and described by Malkani et al. (2013).[1]
Description
The cervical vertebrae of S. dhanetri were found to be most similar to those of Zygorhiza kochii.[citation needed]
