Sulastri (12 June 1925 – 5 March 1984), also known by her pseudonym Si Cerewet, was an Indonesian actress, singer, dancer, and comedian who was known for being typecast as a chatty woman.
Early life[edit]
Sulastri was born on 12 June 1925 in Banten, Dutch East Indies.[1] She completed her education at Hollandsch-Inlandsche School and Mode Vaak School.[1]
Personal life[edit]
Sulastri was married to Iskandar Sukarno, an actor, on 16 April 1945.[2] She later gave birth to their only child, Nunung Sukarno.[2] As of 1979, Sulastri resided at Gang Haji Dawel Number 11 at Otto Iskandardinata street in East Jakarta. She died in Jakarta, Indonesia, on 5 March 1984, at the age of 58.[3]
Career[edit]
Sulastri started her career as a singer, dancer, and theatre actress.[1] She made her film debut by starring in Djaoeh Dimata (1948) and starred in several films, such as Krisis (1953), Pandji Semirang (1953), Sengsara (1955), Berabe (1956), Karena Dosa (1957), Malam Pengantin (1974), Dukun Kota (1978), and etc. She was cast many time as a chatty madam characters and was active as a comedian outside the film industry.
