Sung Kuo-ting (Chinese: 宋國鼎; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Sàng Kok-tíng; born 22 January 1981) is a Taiwanese politician. A member of the New Power Party. He has served as a councillor of Miaoli County Council since 2018. He was elected councillor representing Miaoli County District 4 during the local elections.

Early life

Sung was born on 22 January 1981, and was raised in Miaoli County. He studied in National Hsinchu Senior High School in high school, National Chung Cheng University in university. He completed his studies and obtained the qualification of a lawyer and returned to Miaoli to practice. In the first year of practice, he joined a team of volunteer lawyers including Lawyer Chiu Hsien-chih, and devoted himself to the defense of the "Factory Shutdown Workers Case". Finally, he chose to join the New Power Party, hoping to change Miaoli’s politics. [1]

Political career

Sung took office as councillor of Miaoli County in 2018, on Constitution Day, which coincides with Christmas Day. [2][3]

In April 2019, the New Power Party named Sung its local office in Hsinchu director, succeeding Chiu Hsien-chih.

Sung was elected to the New Power Party's executive council on 29 August 2020, winning the 12th highest vote share.[4]
