Sunyoga

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Sunyoga or Sun yoga or Surya yoga is a yoga system, belonging to Rāja yoga and Ashtanga yoga. One of the promoters and teachers of Sunyoga who brought it back to modern society is Sunyogi Umasankar. In his book "Essence of Sunyoga"[1], he explains basic concepts related to Sunyoga. The main spiritual practice is Sun meditation, originated in ancient India. The type of meditation puts the stress on establishing a direct connection with the Sun or Surya.

Popularity of Sunyoga is growing. In 2012, it was estimated that 10,000 people throughout India were practicing Sunyoga.[2] While now, some sources claim that already 2 million people around the world have learned Sun meditation technique.[3]
