SuperSonic is a South African Internet service provider, providing FTTH Internet services to the South African consumers. SuperSonic is owned and operated by MTN Group.[1][2]

History[edit]

SuperSonic was founded in South Africa by MTN Group in 2018.[3][4]

In 2019 and 2021, SuperSonic won second place ISP of the year from MyBroadband.[5][6][7]

It should also be noted that they have fallen quite fast in the rankings. In July 2021 they were 4th from the bottom of a list of 16 big ISP's that were rated.[8]

Complaints range from unusable service, unable to cancel, continuations of billing after cancellation and data security issues.

Products[edit]

Supersonic Offers FTTH (Fibre) through most Service Providers including OpenServe and Vumatel.[9] SuperSonic also offers “Air Fibre”, a 5G Based Mobile data service introduced in February 2021.[10][11][12]
