Political career

Kajal was elected from Julana in the 1991 Haryana Legislative Assembly election, defeating Indian National Congress candidate Parminder Singh Dhull by 3,003 votes.[3] He contested the seat again in the 1996 Haryana Legislative Assembly election as a Samata Party candidate but lost to Satya Narain Lathar of the Haryana Vikas Party.[4]

In 2000, Kajal contested Julana on an Indian National Lok Dal ticket and finished second to Congress candidate Sher Singh.[4] On 6 September 2000, he was appointed chairman of the Second State Finance Commission of Haryana.[5]

In 2015, Kajal was a former INLD legislator from Julana and former chairman of the Haryana Finance Commission.[6] In 2018, he resigned from the Indian National Lok Dal along with other party office-bearers and workers in Jind district.[7]

In 2023, Kajal served as state president of the Haryana Legal Cell of the Jannayak Janta Party before joining the Indian National Congress in December that year.[8][9]
