Surendranath B R, is an Indian music composer known for his work in Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Bengali and Tulu film industries. He debuted as a music director in the Kannada film Enendu Hesaridali in 2017. His other Kannada projects include Kinaare, Marali Manege, Lisa[1], Raaja Raani and Ward Number 11. He has composed music for the Tulu film Chapter as well. His upcoming film Trikona will be released in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada, while his other project, Kargal Nights, is a Kannada-Hindi web series.

Career

Surendranath started his career as a percussion arranger and programmer in several South Indian films. Later, he went on to score background music for well-known music directors. He even won the best BGM award for his work in the Tulu film Chapter. His continued dedication to music then landed him his first project – Enendu Hesaridali (Kannada) – as a music director in 2017. So far, he has composed music for over 12 films, and 10 more, including Hindi, Telugu and Kannada projects, are in the pipeline. Singers such as Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik, Shankar Mahadevan, Arman Malik, Tippu, Anvesha and Shivam have lent their voices to his compositions. He has worked with A-list lyricists in the Kannada industry, such as Jayanth Kaikini, Nagendra Prasad, Doddrange Gowda and Prem. Films apart, Surendranath runs Parampara Studios, a sound design and audio post-production facility in Bangalore. He is also a part of a Hindustani-Western fusion band also called Parampara (http://paramparastudios.com). This music composer also makes time to spread the knowledge of music. He has a wide student base and currently teaches over 300 students online across USA, UK and India.

Personal life

Surendranath was born into a family of agriculturists and musicians on May 20, 1987, in Soraba, Shivamogga, Karnataka. His father, B Rangappa, was a government employee, and his mother, Renukamma, was a homemaker. He lived with his parents and brother, Ravindranath B R, in Sagar. Surendranath is married to Shruthi Surendranath, and they have a daughter named Viyona Surendranath.
