Surera fort is located in Dantaramgarh Tehsil, Sikar District in Rajasthan, India.
The fort was constructed by Kunwar Mukund Singh, the son of Thakur Shyam Singh (Thakur of Khood) in 1754-1757.
There is an old temple of Kachhawaha kuldevi Jamuwai Mata and one of Maya Ji Maharaj mandir. According to history, first Surera was near the Ram Rai Baba Dungri, but one day Thakur Madho Singh observed that on the hill a sheep and her baby sheep were still safe in the forest, then he decided to construct a fort here, and one day before he founded the Thakur Shree Raghunath Ji Maharaj mandir, then the next day found the fort and 100 bigha of land donated to the temple.
Surera was the thikana under tazmi thikana Danta of Sambhar nizamat of Jaipur state till independence, and the fort is still under the Gadh Rajput family. Thakur Ganga Singh went to Danta and Thakur Onkar Singh Pratapgarh Raj and their family lives there.
Surera was 12 hazar kankad land in which 6000 was under the Rajputs of the fort family called gadh wale and 3000 under Koldi wale (younger brother of Thakur Moti Singh) and remaining 3000 given to the temple, Brahmans and gauchar bhumi. Motto of Surera is: धर्मः हि रक्षितो रक्षितः Now Surera is the village of Sikar district, population of Surera is estimated at 3000 including Khusiyo ka Bas and Jivan Pura.
