Svitlana Ivanivna Dudenko (born June 6, 1957, in Yessentuki, Stavropol Krai, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic) is a Ukrainian architect, urban designer, Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences (1986), Associate Professor. Chief Artist of the city of Kharkiv.

Biography[edit]

Svitlana Ivanivna Dudenko was born in June 6, 1957, in Yessentuki, Stavropol Krai, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic. Educated in O.M. Beketov Kharkiv National University of Urban Economy (1979)[1] and Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences, 1986). Member of the Union of Designers of Ukraine (1997). Member of the Kharkiv Organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1999). Since 2002, she has been working at the municipal enterprise "City Information Center" of the Executive Committee of the Kharkiv City Council. Chief Artist of the city of Kharkiv.

Creation[edit]

She revived the cultural values of Ukraine in Kharkiv:

  • author of the reconstruction and the new graphical design of the coat of arms of the city of Kharkiv;
  • designer and creator of the badge of the "Honorary Citizen of the City of Kharkiv";
  • designer and creator of the collar (chain of office) of the Kharkiv Mayor;
  • author of the idea and the design of the Monument to the Soccer Ball;
  • author of the monumental design of Kharkiv during the holidays, a complex of visual objects in the city;
  • For 23 years she has been the author of the design of a Christmas tree in Kharkiv (in 2019, a Christmas tree with a height of 40.49 m has made it into the National Register of Records of Ukraine as the highest Christmas tree in Ukraine).

Author of graphic and painting artpieces. Including logos of the Kharkiv Buscuit Factory, Municipal Enterprise "City Information Center", Smalta Art Salon and other entities.

Participant of all-Ukrainian and international exhibitions:

  • 2005 - Mobile exhibition of Kharkiv artists "Faces of the First Capital", AR Crimea. Organizer: club-type non-governmental organization "Vitalnia na Dvorianskiy" in collaboration with the Rubanenko & Partners Consulting Group;
  • 2007 - Mobile exhibition of Kharkiv artists "Meeting". Regions: AR Crimea and Western Ukraine. With the support of Kharkiv City Council, Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil and Uzhgorod city councils.

  • Order of Princess Olga of the 3rd grade (2012)
  • Honorary Citizen of the City of Kharkiv (2015)
  • Certificate of Commendation from the Kharkiv City Council (1999, 2004, 2007)
  • "Slobozhanska Slava" Honorary Award from the Chairman of Kharkiv Regional State Administration ("Slobozhanska Slava" meaning "Glory of Sloboda Ukraine") (2004).
