Swapan Debbarma

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Swapan Debbarma is a tribal man from Tripura who saved 2,000 lives by averting a passenger train accident.

The train was coming to Agartala, and at Mungiakami (Ambassa) the train pilot noticed a man and a child waving their clothes and recognised danger ahead, stopping the train. The land beneath the rail line had been washed away by the river, and the train could have fallen into the river.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]
