Sydney New Year's Eve |
Sydney New Year's Eve 2005–06 was the 11th Sydney New Year's Eve held at Sydney Harbour on the evening of 31 December 2005 and in the early hours of 1 January 2006. The Nine Network broadcast the event for their 11th and final consecutive year, as Network Ten won the broadcasting rights for a three-year deal. Nine would later regain the rights back from Ten after their deal had ended. This was also Richard Wilkins 10th and last consecutive year as host. The theme was previously revealed to be "Heart of the Harbour" with fireworks once again produced by Foti International Fireworks.[1] This was Wayne Harrison's first year as creative director.
