Sydney South African Film Festival
The Sydney South African Film Festival[1] (SSAFF) celebrates South African films and filmmakers. The chosen features and documentaries showcase the culture, history and politics of South Africa[2] while supporting the charity Education Without Borders[3][4] which assists young people in disadvantaged areas of South Africa. SSAFF is a not for profit. The inaugural SSAFF was held in conjunction with Event Cinemas in Bondi in 2019 and was directed by Claire Jankelson and Di Singer. The 2020 SSAFF runs online due to the challenges of COVID-19 and is one of Australia's first festivals to go online[5]. Question and answer sessions are run in conjunction with the films.
