Dr Syed Fazil Hussain Parvez is an veteran Indian journalist and author. He is the editor of Gawah Urdu Weekly, South India's oldest Urdu weekly in continuous print, a publication he founded in 1999. He is the Managing Partner of a Hyderabad-based media house Media Plus. His editorials titled 'Sacch toh Magar Kehne Do" published in Gawah every week were dubbed "subjective, honest and empathetic" by even the English media, which termed his 'idaaria' (editorials) as the 'best example of creative non-fiction'. These editorials are concurrently featured in various daily Urdu newspapers throughout India.

Parvez holds a Doctoral degree in (Urdu) Journalism from Osmania University. He has featured on several debates and discussions including on national media.

In 2013, he publicly voiced against exploitation of voters sentiments by communal parties, appealing citizens to not give in to the communal agendas at play.

Parvez has authored six books to date, including Urdu Media : Kal Aaj Kal, an encyclopedic account of evolution of journalism and media from pre-historic ages to the present day. The comprehensive 400+ pages is included in the academic syllabus of different States in India. His first book "Azharuddin: Cricket Ka Shehzada" (Azharuddin : Emperor of Cricket) was released by then captain of the Indian Cricket Team Mohammed Azharuddin after he shot to fame with record three centuries in a row.
