Republic Day celebrations
In January 2015, Popular Front of India, Hyderabad unit and the Welfare Party of India jointly organized an event to celebrate the 66th Republic Day (India) at Hasan Nagar, Hyderabad. Rafiq Ahmed, Hyderabad city president of Popular Front of India reportedly said at this event, "The general public, at large, should not only celebrate the Republic Day but also protect it from the clutches of communal, fascist and capitalistic forces, which are ruining the spirit of our republic."[1]
Rafiq Ahmed also added that, under the current government in 2015, India was now being diverted to be a capitalistic state. He stated that India was being ruled by power mongers, capitalists, criminals and communal forces which was against the Constitution of India that was framed with the spirit of an India ruled by the public at large. Syed Shafiullah Quadri appealed to the gathering to fight for their rights which were given to them in the Constitution.[1]
