Syed Tanveer Hussain is a Pakistani actor known for supporting roles in film and television.[1]
Early life
Syed Tanveer Hussain is a Pakistani actor who works in theatre, television and film. He began his career from theatre scene in the 1980s before moving into television, making an early appearance in My Pure Land.[2][3] He later appeared in television productions including Zard Patton Ka Bunn, Gentleman and Breaking News.[2][4]
Shah's film work includes My Pure Land, Sanp Seerdhi, Bach Malanga, Yadan De Buhay and Gunjal.[5][6][7][8][9] He won Best Actor Male in Most impactful actor of the year at the Hum Awards 2025 for the TV series Zard Patton ka Bunn.[10]

Hussain played the supporting role of "Baba" in My Pure Land (2017), a British Urdu-language drama film directed by Sarmad Masud.[11] My Pure Land was selected as the United Kingdom's submission for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film at the 90th Academy Awards, the first time the UK had submitted an Urdu-language film, though it was not nominated.[12]
He later appeared in Gunjal (2023), a Pakistani crime drama film inspired by the story of child-labour activist Iqbal Masih, as part of a cast that included Ahmed Ali Akbar, Resham, Amna Ilyas, and Ahmad Ali Butt.[13]
He has also been credited in the 2025 production Dastak.[1]
