The Machine Room is an American film and television production company, founded by William Brent Bell. The company is known for producing films such as Separation.[1] and Lord of Misrule[2]

Overview[edit]

On July 4, 2014 William Brent Bell launched The Machine Room, which will develop and produce films in the horror, thriller, and science fiction genres. The first films being Separation, Lord of Misrule, and Andover.[3]

Upcoming Release[edit]

Separation is an upcoming American horror film, directed by William Brent Bell, from a screenplay by Nick Amadeus and Josh Braun. It stars Rupert Friend, Mamie Gummer, Madeline Brewer, Violet McGraw, Simon Quarterman, and Brian Cox. It is scheduled to be released on April 23, 2021, by Open Road Films and Briarcliff Entertainment.[4]

Lord of Misrule [5] is a contemporary folk-horror set in a small town in the English countryside from a script by Tom de Ville The Quiet Ones.[disambiguation needed] Producers are Laurie Cook, Jason Newmark, William Brent Bell, and James Tomlinson. Executive producers are Richard Mansell, Ed Fraiman and Adam Nagel. The film will be a Bigscope Films and The Machine Room production and was developed with the support of the BFI.
