TVBJ (formerly known as TVB Zongyi Channel) is a cable television StarHub TV channel 838 with Television Broadcasts (International) Limited as its main general news and entertainment television channel in Cantonese. It was officially launched in 2000 as TVB Zongyi Channel with 12-hour broadcasts from 12:00 to 00:00 SST daily. Outside of these broadcasts, three cable television channels provide 12-hours of programming from 00:00 to 12:00 SST daily on StarHub TV, airing TVB Xing He for 2 hours from 00:00 to 06:00 SST daily, CCTV-1 & CCTV-13 – subsidiaries of CCTV – for 3 hours from 06:00 to 09:00 SST, and TVB Entertainment News for 3 hours from 09:00 to 12:00 SST daily.
Currently, in Singapore, this channel plays a version different from the Singapore broadcast, offering news, drama, music, entertainment news and variety programs.
It signed an agreement with TVB allowing access to television series programmes, including nightlife dramas, at 20:00–22:00 SST & 23:00–00:00 SST daily, broadcast live simultaneously with terrestrial production’s TVB Jade, with Cantonese dubbing and Chinese subtitles, and simultaneously broadcast on CCTV-1 & CCTV-13, subsidiaries of CCTV, from 06:00 to 09:00 SST daily.
It also relays News at 6:30 and News Roundup – news programmes from Hong Kong’s free-to-air terrestrial television channel TVB Jade – which are also available in Singapore, and live simulcasts on TVB Drama International (00:00–06:00 SST), CCTV-1 & CCTV-13 (06:00–09:00 SST) and TVB Entertainment News (09:00–12:00 SST).
