TV BRICS is the international media network which connects all types of BRICS+ countries media together and facilitates the formation and distribution of the information agenda of the BRICS+ countries, operating through an extensive network of media partners in the BRICS member states. TV BRICS international editorial board publishes and distributes materials in five languages: Russian, English, Chinese, Portuguese and Spanish.

TV BRICS compromises: 24-hour broadcasting in English, Chinese and Portuguese, TV broadcasting blocks in the BRICS+ countries, tvbrics.com information portal operating in 5 languages, a round-the-clock TV channel with broadcasting in Russia, as well as more than 60 media partners and 20 international partner film festivals in Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, Argentina, Venezuela, Cuba, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Kazakhstan, Armenia and other countries. Total technical coverage of the TV BRICS partner network's media outlets that publish TV BRICS content on their national platforms exceeds 1,5 billion users. TV BRICS interacts with more than 10 national educational institutions, as well as with a number of international public organizations, and has the partner status of a number of official departments of state administration bodies in the BRICS+ countries.

Structure[edit]

TV BRICS International Media Network headquarter is based in Moscow. TV BRICS has no official representative offices registered and operating in any other countries. TV BRICS develops cooperation with other organizations and institutions worldwide and forms mutually beneficial partnerships.

In Russia TV BRICS has technical coverage about 36 million people. TV BRICS has 24 hours broadcasting in Wink, AKADO, Lime HD and other cable networks and OTT-platforms.

TV BRICS media network coordinates multilateral high-quality information exchange between different editorial boards connecting more than 60 media resources in BRICS+ countries.

History[edit]

TV BRICS was created thanks to a joint initiative of the Group’s leaders. The intention to launch a joint television network of the BRICS countries was stated at the BRICS summit in Xiamen, China, on September 4, 2017.[citation needed]

Projects[edit]

TV BRICS is official member of the SDG Media Compact, an initiative marking a new drive to advance awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).[citation needed]

BRICS against COVID-19[edit]

In 2020 TV BRICS along with media sources of 5 countries launched an unprecedented international media project calls BRICS AGAINST COVID-19 INFOHUB. The key partners supported TV BRICS initiative were The UN Information Center in Moscow and the World Health Organization Representation Office in the Russian Federation. The main goal of the BRICS AGAINST COVID-19 project is to combat the "misinformation pandemic" and the wave of fake news that the global community has been observing. This project gained the huge interest of tens of the most reliable media sources in BRICS that joined the initiative. Materials from Brazil, India, China, and South Africa discussing the pandemic were adapted for Russian audiences and vice versa – news stories concerning the Russian Covid agenda were adapted to BRICS national languages and spread through the network of local media sources.[citation needed]

Dostoevsky Intercontinental[edit]

The "Dostoevsky Intercontinental" documentary film is intended to reflect the relevance of Dostoevsky's figure, his work and philosophical heritage for the international community, as well as to draw the viewers' attention to the national accents of interpretation of Dostoevsky's philosophy in India, South Africa, Brazil, China and Russia.[citation needed]


BRICS digital world[edit]

TV BRICS launches BRICS Digital World, an international digital video content library.

BRICS Digital World is a single international content library produced in the BRICS member states. The library includes multi-genre multilingual video content: television series, feature films and documentaries, TV shows, web series, television documentaries, etc. Content database provides paid and publicly available access. The collected content is cataloged under categories, reflecting all the necessary information for the user: name, description, genre, dubbing language, country of origin, etc.[citation needed]
