Talking Practice is an educational design podcast about the practice of architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, and urban planning launched by Harvard University Graduate School of Design.[1][2] The podcast was noted as one of the top fourteen design podcasts in 2019 by Dezeen.[3]

History[edit]

Talking Practice began on October, 2018 as a podcast where the host, Grace La, Chair of the GSD’s Practice Platform and Principal of LA DALLMAN, talks with leading designers about "the ways in which architects, landscape architects, designers and planners articulate design imagination through practice." [4] The first season of the podcast included interviews with renowned designers Shohei Shigematsu (OMA), Jeanne Gang, Reinier de Graaf, Anna Heringer, and Paul Nakazawa.

Production[edit]

Talking Practice is produced by Ronee Saroff and edited by Maggie Janik. Research support is by GSD graduate students including Alexander Porter, Julia Roberts, Jihyun Ro, and John Wang. Sound engineering is done by Jeffry Valade and Jerry McDonald of Harvard University's Media Production Center. [5]
